Alistair is the Founder and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bluestone, a specialist lender established in April 2000. After 7 years as CEO of Bluestone Group, Alistair has been appointed Executive Chairman of the company.
His background and experience, together with hands on knowledge of the specialist mortgage industry in the United Kingdom, has enabled Bluestone to quickly become a leader in Australia with an enviable record of growth and development.
Originally from New Zealand, Alistair moved to London in 1989 to join Goldman Sachs as Associate Director, where he gained specialist experience in mortgage-backed securitisation and subsequently became Director, Principal Finance Group (PFG) at Nomura International plc. As one of the founding members of PFG, he was involved in a team that expanded Nomuras assets by over $UK10 billion and defined PFG as a highly profitable investment banking sector.
It was here that Alistairs knowledge of non-conforming residential lending was developed, being directly involved in establishing one of the UKs leading non-conforming mortgage lender. He was responsible for overseeing the origination company, and managing the restructuring and execution of the securitisation of mortgages.
Alistairs return to Australia was stimulated by his intention to apply his specialist financial knowledge and skills to opportunities in the region. After undertaking over a year of research he concluded that there was an opportunity to develop a respected and dynamic specialist mortgage lender in the Australian marketplace.
Peter has been appointed as CEO of Bluestone Group after holding the position of CEO of Bluestone Equity Release and Chief Finance Officer of Bluestone.
Bluestone Equity Release is a subsidiary of the Bluestone Group, a business which was launched in April 2004 as a specialist provider of Reverse Mortgages in Australia.
Peter has a wealth of experience in financing one of UKs non-bank mortgage originators and is also a qualified chartered accountant.
Mike joined Bluestone in 2006 to develop the systems and processes that would allow Bluestone to provide servicing, an area that has previously been outsourced. He has spent the first 13 years of his career in banking and finance in the US, prior to coming to Australia in 1997.
He has held senior roles at American Savings Bank, Washington Mutual, Westpac, Wizard/AFIG and GE managing staff of up to 2400 employees.
Mike holds an MBA in Management from UCLA and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Accounting.
Andrew was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2008 having joined Bluestone in 2006. Originally from the UK, Andrew worked at the "Big 4" accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers spending 9 years in their Assurance practice.
During this time Andrew gained a broad experience working with a range of companies and industries in both London and Sydney.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics from The University of Durham and is also a UK qualified chartered accountant
Steve’s career spans close to 30 years in banking and finance across a number of highly regarded institutions, including ANZ, Macquarie Bank and HSBC where Steve spent a very successful 5 years Heading up Mortgages, Alternate Distribution and Personal Financial Services.
His experience extends across the full range of personal and commercial finance from margin lending to residential and commercial mortgages, auto finance, leasing finance and insurance premium funding.
More recently Steve took up a role as a foundation Director with GMAC RFC launching their first non-conforming product in Australia and developing the multi-channel Sales Strategy to take the business from start up fully operational lender in a short space of time. This was closely followed as General Manager Distribution & Operations with Aussie Home Loans where Steve was part of the team responsible for the successful integration of Wizard Home Loans.
Steve holds a Masters Degree in Business, is a current Fellow of FINSIA and has held positions on both the National Lending Committee and National Broker Committee of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia.
Mr Luckock has been a board member of Bluestone Group since May 2008, initially as a representative of CPIM and subsequently as an independent non-executive. Mr. Luckock was Head of Private Investments for CPIM from January 2005 to the end of 2008. Prior to joining CPIM, from 2001 to 2005, Mr. Luckock was a Principal at Apax Partners where as a member of the Leveraged Transactions group, he focused on financial services investments.
From 1996 to 1999 Mr. Luckock worked for The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Australia and London. In 1999, while at BCG, he was seconded to AMP Ltd. Mr. Luckock has a Masters in Business Administration with Distinction from INSEAD, France, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Arts (History & Politics) from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
